Panel discussion:
Reshaping food environments to enable a change in consumer behaviour.
Reshaping food environments is critical for food systems sustainability, a need now recognised at the EU level, most notably in the Farm to Fork Strategy. Creating enabling food environments means ensuring that foods, beverages, and meals that contribute to sustainable healthy diets are the most available, affordable, convenient, and widely promoted. Creating healthy, sustainable food environments involves implementing policies to reshape incentives across the food chain, regulatory efforts, new business models for both in and out of home eating. How can we together reshape food environments to long term consumer shifts in diets?
Panel lead:
Prof. Klaus G. Grunert, Professor of Marketing at Aarhus University

Mecislavs Maculēvičs, HR Director and member of Corporate Responsibility Board Rimi Baltics

These programmes are looking for solutions across multiple landscapes, working on complementary areas of the transition. In partnership with Food Valley, The Regenerative Innovation Portfolio is focussed on removing barriers to adoption of regenerative agriculture, working directly with farmers on supply / demand matching, ecosystem services, and de-risking the financial barriers. The Carbon+ Coalition, created by the Green Deal CEO Action Group, is delivering a pilot to test the EU Carbon Removal Certification Framework, to establish viable pathways for farmers to achieve carbon reduction and removal and benefit from the transition.
